I was in first grade. We came in from lunch. The principal went from class to class to tell us what happened and that school would be cancelled through the end of the month. But no one cheered. We were all grief stricken.
I was in 1st Grade, and I remember coming home, and I said to my mother that the President had gotten shot, and this was also my Mother Birthday. And then 5 years later his brother Bobby got shot on my Birthday

I was in eighth grade - A woman from the office came into class and whispered something to our teacher. I can still see her turning white as a ghost and dropping into her chair. Then she told us...A terrible day for the world!
It was my 3rd birthday. It is my earliest memory. I watching As the World Turns with my mom and my Aunt when Walter Cronkite broke in. I didn't understand what was happening, I just didn't understand why everyone was crying on my birthday.

I was conferring with my junior high guidance counselor when the news began circulating that JFK had been shot. Many around me (kids and teachers) started crying; I think I was just stunned.
