I miss bench seats.  Cars felt more spacious with them.  I don't care for how cluttered and claustrophobic it feels in a car with bucket seats and the shift on the console area.

Bench seats were particularly nice when going to a drive-in movie with your girl :-)

Another great thing about bench seats is that you could actually enter the car via the passenger side door and easily slide yourself over to the driver's seat. Ever had to do this in a contemporary car for some reason? If you're a guy, you can seriously damage yourself...

Movie? What movie? Note how clean the arrangement looks with no seat belts or shoulder straps. Not safe, but clean. First lap belt I encountered was in Dad's 65 Fury.

Darn you could sleep on these benches - I am 6-2, beautiful boats to go for a Drive-in show and sometimes actually watch the movie
