What I enjoyed the most & found the funniest was Oddball. A typical "stoned hippie" in WWII.

It was a very loud and fantastic movie alright but it would have been better if the ones killed had somehow been kept alive so they to could share in the spoils!

Karl-Otto Alberty leaves with Oddball's swapped leather pilot jacket, but no jeep is around for the Germans. Shortly thereafter, General Colt arrives in a jeep. Best guess is that the Germans loaded their gold onto the second truck and skee-daddled. It was shown (cut up) a few times on Lou Diamond Philips' "An Officer and a movie," with a retired Army Lt Col for "expert" commentary. They spoiled it with their speculation of how they couldn't have gotten away with it in the end. They missed the entire point: Enjoy, have some laughs, have fun. Fantastic movie.

If GIs could do such a thing, how would they change the gold to cash? And about Oddball using the Tiger for transportation and them wearing German uniforms? My favorite part was the Theme Song! When I first heard it, it took a long time before I could get it out of my mind...

Well, Connery is "Scottish-Russian"..... He only had a few "Russian" lines, and he sounded like the gruff, tough, sub commander. I liked the way they transitioned into English after the Political Officer read the bible passage. As an aside, it's interesting how many actors have played Jack Ryan. Oddly enough, they all seem to pull it off.

Oh, I dunno... Someone better at accents. Look at what Alan Cumming can do today. Connery, I feel, sounds the same no matter where his character is from.

Absolutely! He not only looked the part, he did a fair job speaking the few Russian words he was given. I thought he was perfect! My other "hero", Harrison Ford, did a comparable job in "K-19 the Widowmaker", another Russian sub movie. You made me curious, though. Who would you see as Capt. Ramias?

"The Hunt for Red October"? Really? I loved the book, and read everything by Tom Clancy for several years, but Sean Connery as a Russian sub captain? I repeat; really?

I am with you on that. I have watched my favorites many times over. That's why they're my favorites! "2001", "The Hunt for Red October", "Gravity", and many others.

"Have a little faith, baby...have a little faith..." (Oddball played by Donald Sutherland). I have similiar viewing habits compared to members: I watch my favourite movies over and over again. My family is perplexed by this habit, but, I never seem to get enough of this group of characters.

You are forgiven.... I really liked this movie. Only problem is the theme song.... get it in your head and it's stuck there! "Burning Bridges" by the Mike Curb Congregation.

Yeah, I know that this lies just a bit outside the "Movies of the Sixties" category, but I just loved it. Might need to create a Movies of the Seventies gallery, eh?
