My mother and her friends would play Mah-Jongg weekly, rotating whose house it would be in. When it was at our house, I sat at the top of the stairs listening:
"Two crack,"
"Three bamboo,"
"Mah-Jongg!"
I had very little idea what about how the game was played, but I always looked forward to it being in our house because when they had all left, I could go downstairs and eat what was left over from the dishes of fancy candy which my mother served.
