I remember when the LAPD bought quite a few Matadors as their police cruisers, surprising, but the held up pretty well. Then when I got to Germany, in the Army in 1972 the sedans were 1969 Ambassadors. Six cylinders and three speed on the column. We literally trashed them, and they kept on going, tougher than I gave them credit for.

Had an old Pacer when I lived in Buffalo. It was cancered out really bad but mechanically that car was a champ. (And a fast little bugger too)

There sure were a lot of Gremlin's sold before AMC disappeared. I had one and got my moneys worth out of it.
