My Brother bought me a Moms Mabley album entitled Moms Mabley breaks it up and the cover was a picture of her on a bulldozer smashing into bldng!! I think it was a bldng anyone remember?

She was the Satchel Paige of comedy, came along a little to soon to get the mainstream success she deserved. Thanks to the Smothers Brothers, she at least had a small chance to reach a wider audience than the "chitlin' circuit."

I had an album by her back in the sixties. I thought it was really on the edge for it's time. Probably pretty tame now. I read she later tried to reinvent her career, coming out as a lesbian comic but it never caught on...

Seems to me she could be pretty raunchy. My grandmother had an album of hers and loved it. Wait... no, my mother says it was Belle Barth. Must look her up now...
