Baseball

We've chosen to focus on 1957, since that's the last year the Dodgers and Giants made their homes in New York City and began the westward (and northward and southward) expansion of Major League Baseball. New York City was left without a National League team until the formation of the Mets in 1962.

We were Mets fans from 1962 until now. I never saw The Polo Grounds. I rooted for them when Shea opened up in 1964. Loveable losers ! My Dad was really a Brooklyn Dodger fan but picked up on the "Mutts" when the Dodgers moved to L.A. I'll never forget1969, it was a sweet year for the Mets !! I was 12 years old and on top of the world when they won the series from the Orioles. With Seaver, Koosman and Ryan ( Gentry and McAndrew) that had great pitching ! Agee leading off with Cleon Jones and his high batting average......great memories !
