When I was about 14, I met Shari Lewis's father, Abraham Hurwitz, While my family was vacationing at a resort in the Catskills where he was performing magic as the evening entertainment. I was a part of his act one evening, where he had me recall 30 random words that the audience shouted out using a mnemonic code that he taught me. He also removed my undershirt while I was wearing a suit (not a trick), and cut my necktie in half and restored it (magic!).
BTW, According to Wikipedia, Lamb Chop once testified before Congress.

I found a dvd of Shari and Lambchop thinking my daughter might enjoy it.She loved it from the first episode and was surprized to learn I watched her when I was a little girl.
I just loved this program when I was a kid, with Charley Horse and Hush Puppy as well. It was still on the air in the mid-'90s when my daughter was young, and we videotaped every episode and watched them over and over. My daughter still talks about the "Don't Wake Your Mom" video; she took it seriously -- and woke me instead on weekend mornings.
