My first and only SLR was a Pentax K1000, which looks nearly identical to this one. It is a totally manual camera and it taught me the the mechanics of photography. If you did everything right, you would get great pictures. I remember using Ektachrome ASA 25 and getting stunning color slides. After getting a Pentax 3.1 megapixel camera, I put the K1000 away and haven't used it since.
used one of these on a biz trip to Europe back in 1971, and Ex hub had all the extra lenses, tripod, etc. and still have tons of slides taken with that cam.
I love it! The picture for Pentax shows my very first SLR- A Pentax Spotmatic. I purchased it in 1970, I believe it was, at the BX at Rhein Main Air Force Base in Frankfurt Germany.I don't have the original now but I do have a nice duplicate. Pentax glass has always been a step above average I think.
