I remember this series as a kid...with Dale Robertson shilling for Pall Mall cigarettes..."So Smooth, So Satisfying, so downright smokeable!!!" The one episode I remember was the one in which he beat (IIRC) John Wesley Hardin to the draw with a "Trick Holster" which Mattel copied and sold along with its "Fanner 50"...the 'trick' was a pivoting holster that had a trigger tripping mechanism on the inside of the holster body...all 'Jim Hardy' had to do was cock the hammer (all revolvers of that era were Single Action, although you wouldn't know it by watching old westerns) and tip the holster to a horizontal position... to 'beat' Hardin to the draw...Mattel added a string loop to the forward, lower part of the holster so when you 'surrendered' to the sheriff (whoever got to play thas part of the sheriff in your back yard) you'd pull the holster to the horizontal position (all Fanner 50s had double Action triggers, unlike the REAL Thing), you'd get the drop on the sheriff....
