I just learned that "Candid Camera" started as a radio program called  "Candid Microphone" in 1947. Did you know that?  Here's a link to a website that has several episodes available for download or streaming. My favorite bit involved a Y intersection where a policeman stood to direct traffic. A Volkswagen Beetle approached, then split in half -- with each half taking a different fork in the rood. They'd somehow managed to put a Beetle shell on two motorcycles.
