Alvin (DSV-2)
This deep-submersible vehicle, owned by the US Navy and operated by the
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute in Massachusetts, was launched in 1964.

Curiously, it was built by General Mills, in the same Minneapolis factory
used to manufacture breakfast cereal-production machinery.
