Thalidomide
Thalidomide
The drug Thalidomide was brought to market in 1957 as a treatment for tension, anxiety, gastritis, insomnia, nausea, and morning sickness. Unfortunately, the use of Thalidomide by pregnant women resulted in a wide range of birth defects, so much so that it is still referred to as the Thalidomide Tragedy.
