I lived in Saratog springs from 1955 to 1965 and my aunt worked at Newberrys. I dont think this is the one on Saratoga because of the height of the buidings and the gap on the right side between the next building but the sign looks as I remeber it.
Is this the JJ Newberry's that was on Broadway in Saratoga Springs, NY. I lived near Saratoga Springs from 1962-1969 (and Saratoga Lake until 1972). This looks exactly like I remember.
If you lived in Saratoga int the 60's, you might also remember: Daw's Drugs Jamesway & Save-Way The Globe Supply Duvall's News Slim's Market Humpty Dumpty Ice cream bar(still operating) The old barn (Stewart's Ice Cream factory)* House of Gee Tally-Ho G Heath King/Lanfear TV Repair The Red Barn (fast food Chain) The Central Market Ross Beach Music House Flying "A" gas Station* Restaurant with "21 cent Hamberber" sign (I believe building still there) The Old Man's (clothing store) Fox's (or was it N Fox"s) Closed down drive-in theater which became a trailor park (while screen, speaker posts and snack bar were still standing)* The Petrified Gardens* The Sheep Dip (Kaydeross swimming hole) The Old School house* Atwell's (or Maybe Attell's) store*
* in or near Greenfield Center just outside of Saratoga
Not sure if I have all the spelling right, but I hope this may trigger a few Saratoga Baby-boomer memories.
