I recall a commercial for this where a woman was slapping a chicken (ready for the oven) saying, "Come on, wake up, wake up!" Or something to that effect. The point was that Accent is the way to wake up the flavor. I thought it was funny.

Ajinomoto is the Asian version of the same thing. It's used everywhere from Tokyo to Jakarta.
