Got our first color TV in August 1972. We didn't watch anything but cartoons. The colors were so pretty.

Of course. We didn't even have a TV until 1956 or our first color in 1967. The 1967 RCA was always on the blink to the point where we kidded that the TV repair guy (Mr. Landau) had his own parking space in our driveway. He had a miror on a telescoping device to adjust the 3 color guns from behind the set while watching the screen. It cost $800 in 1967 money , a month's salary + for my dad. Saw my first color program "Johnny Quest" on a neighbor's set ... wow

The very first color program I saw was a filmed play of Peter Pan on a neighbor's color TV in 1960. It starred Mary Martin as Peter Pan. I remember the set was a console unit with a nearly round screen. Soon thereafter, they invited us over to watch Bonanza in color, one of the few weekly shows broadcast in color at the time. My parents didn't buy their first color TV until the mid-70's.
