If there was a law suit I think Crosby lost. The singer appears to continue through the '70s.

The main reasn I remember Sugar Pops was because the Bear who sang the jingle sounded like Bing Crosby so much Crosby sued Post and so the one who sang the bear's part was dropped from the commercial! Which I thought was kind of petty because that was the singer's actual voice...

Bob K, it sounds like you're referring to Kellogg's Sugar Pops, which are a different cereal.

Two comments. One is that this is the first pre-sweetened cereal I remember. The other is that I find it amusing that when sugar became a negative, they merely changed the name, just as Kellogg's Sugar Corn Pops became just Corn Pops! A rose by any other name...
