Went to see him in KC,tiny me standing on my Daddy's thighs...Bird lifted me up to the stand...he was wearing slippers and had rubber bands all over his horn, which he carried in a grocery bag...aed me what I'd like to hear...not gonna say what I said...but I still have a lot of his records..
